Australia Business Development - Provisional

Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) (subclass 188) visa

This visa allows you to:

Establish a new or develop an existing business in Australia (the Business Innovation stream)
Make a designated investment with an Australian state or territory government (the Investor stream)
Invest at least AUD 5 million in Australia (the Significant Investor stream).

You can apply for this visa if you:

Are invited to apply
Have a successful business or investment history
Have adequate personal and business assets
Were nominated by a state or territory government.

You may be eligible to extend your Business Innovation and Investment (subclass 188) provisional visa:

Business Innovation stream - you can renew your visa for an additional two years if you need extra time to meet the criteria needed to apply for a Business Innovation and Investment (Permanent) visa (subclass 888)
Investor stream - you cannot renew your visa
Significant Investor stream - you can renew your visa twice, to give you a maximum of eight years on this provisional visa.

This visa allows you to:

Establish a new or develop an existing business in Australia, make a designated investment with anAustralian state or territory government, or make and maintain complying investments in Australia
Travel in and out of Australia for the life of your visa
Bring family members with you to Australia
Seek permanent residence by applying for a Business Innovation and Investment (Permanent) visa (subclass 888).

If you have held this visa for at least two years in the Business Innovation stream, you may be eligible to apply early for the permanent Business Innovation and Investment visa (subclass 888). You must also have met all the obligations of your provisional visa and all the requirements of the permanent visa.

Business Owner

Business Owner (Provisional) (Subclass 160) Closed

This visa is for people who have a successful business career, and have a genuine and realistic commitment to be involved as an owner in a new or existing business in Australia. This visa is also the first step towards being granted a permanent Business Skills visa. This visa is for business owners from overseas who intend to own a business in Australia, and are less than 45 years of age.
With this visa you can:

establish a new or existing business in Australia
travel in and out of Australia any number of times as long as the visa is valid
have your family accompany you to Australia. They will have access to work and study rights
establish a pathway to permanent residence.

With this visa you can:

have your family accompany you to Australia. They will have access to work and study rights. Your family includes your partner and any dependants.

State/Territory Sponsored Senior Executive (Provisional) (Subclass 164) Closed

This visa is designed is for senior executive employees of major overseas businesses, who have significant net assets and a genuine and realistic commitment to participate in the management of a new or existing business. This visa is also the first step towards being granted a permanent Business Skills visa.Senior executives from overseas who through their experience have gained the skills to successfully manage a business in Australia, are less than 55 years old, and their family.

With this visa you can:
establish a new or existing business in Australia
travel in and out of Australia any number of times as long as the visa is valid
have your family accompany you to Australia. They will have access to work and study rights. Your family includes your partner and any dependants.

Investors

Investor (Provisional) (Subclass 162) Closed

This visa is for people who have a successful business or investment career, and have a genuine and realistic commitment to be involved in investing or business in Australia. This visa is also the first step towards being granted a permanent Business Skills visa.
This visa is for investors/business people from overseas who are willing to invest funds in a designated investment in Australia for four (4) years, and are less than 45 years of age.

With this visa you can:

establish a pathway to permanent residence.

State/Territory Sponsored Investor (Provisional) (Subclass 165) Closed
