Australia Business Development - Permanent

Business Talent (Permanent) (subclass 132) visa

This visa has two streams.

  • The Significant Business History stream is for affluent owners or part owners of a business who want to have a major management role in a new or existing business in Australia.
  • The Venture Capital Entrepreneur stream is for people who have obtained at least AUD1 million in funding from an Australian venture capital firm.

Applications are by invitation only. To be invited to apply, a person must lodge an Expression of Interest, be nominated by a state or territory government, and

  • Have personal and business assets of AUD1.5 million (AUD400 000 must be net assets in the business), and have a business turnover of AUD3 million, or
  • Have obtained at least AUD1 million in funding from an Australian venture capital firm for a promising high value business idea.

Access Privileges:

  • As a permanent resident, you and your accompanying family members are entitled to enroll in Medicare Australia's scheme for health-related care and expenses.
  • You are also able to take out private health insurance.
  • You may qualify for a Special Benefit from Centrelink if you suffer a major change of circumstances that is beyond your control.

Travel Privileges:

This is a permanent residence visa. It allows you to travel to and from Australia for five years from the date it is granted. If you want to continue such travel after the visa expires, you must get a Resident Return visa. You can also apply for citizenship.

 

Business Innovation and Investment (Permanent) visa (subclass 888)

This visa allows you to:

  • Continue to own and manage a business in Australia (the Business Innovation stream)
  • Continue business and investment activity in Australia (the Investor stream and the Significant Investor stream).

You can apply for this visa if you:

  • Hold a provisional Business Innovation and Investment visa (subclass 188)
  • Have met the requirements of that visa in the stream in which you first applied
  • Are nominated by a state or territory

After the visa is granted, you may:

  • own and manage a business in Australia, or continue investment activity in Australia
  • travel in and out of Australia for five years
  • have family members accompany you to Australia
  • live and work in Australia permanently
  • enroll in Medicare Australia's scheme for health-related care and expenses.

 

Business Owner (Residence) (Subclass 890)

This visa is designed to attract business people to assist in the economic development of Australia. The visa allows you to stay in Australia on a permanent basis for the purpose of owning a new or existing business. You must have held one of the required provisional visas and meet the requirements to be eligible for this visa.Business owners from overseas who have held one of the required provisional visas, and their family.
With this visa you can:

  • work in a new or existing business in Australia
  • travel in and out of Australia any number of times as long as the visa is valid
  • study in Australia
  • have your family accompany you to Australia. They will have access to work and study rights
  • become a permanent resident of Australia.
  • live in Australia as a permanent resident for five years (after 5 years, you will need to apply for a resident return visa).

 

Investor (Residence) (Subclass 891)

This visa is designed for investors/business people who:

  • hold an Investor (provisional) visa
  • have maintained your designated investments for the minimum 4 years
  • have been in Australia for at least 2 years in the last 4 years.
  • Investors from overseas who are willing to make a designated investment in Australia, and their family.

With this visa you can:

  • work
  • travel in and out of Australia any number of times as long as the visa is valid
  • study in Australia
  • have your family accompany you to Australia. They will have access to work and study rights
  • become a permanent resident of Australia.
  • live in Australia as a permanent resident for five years (after 5 years, you will need to apply for a resident return visa
  • Investors

 

State/Territory Sponsored Business Owner (Residence) (Subclass 892)

This visa is designed to attract business people to assist in the economic development of Australia. The visa allows you to stay in Australia on a permanent basis for the purpose of owning a new or existing business. You must have held one of the qualifying provisional visas, be sponsored by a state/territory authority, and meet the requirements to be eligible for this visa.People who have an ownership interest in an Australian business and are directly involved in managing that business.
With this visa you can:

  • work
  • travel in and out of Australia any number of times as long as the visa is valid
  • study in Australia
  • have your family accompany you to Australia. They will have access to work and study rights
  • become a permanent resident of Australia.
  • live in Australia as a permanent resident for five years (after 5 years, you will need to apply for a resident return visa).

 

State/Territory Sponsored Investor (Residence) (Subclass 893)

This visa is designed for investors/business people who:

  • have significant net assets
  • have an overall successful record of business or investment activities
  • are willing to invest funds in a designated investment in Australia for four years
  • have a genuine commitment to maintain business and investment activity in Australia.
  • hold an Investor (provisional) visa
  • are sponsored by a state/territory authority.

Investors from overseas who are willing to make a designated investment in Australia, and their family.
With this visa you can:

  • work
  • travel in and out of Australia any number of times as long as the visa is valid
  • study in Australia
  • have your family accompany you to Australia. They will have access to work and study rights
  • become a permanent resident of Australia.
  • live in Australia as a permanent resident for five years (after 5 years, you will need to apply for a resident return visa).

 

Established Business in Australia (Subclass 845) Closed

If you are a temporary resident in Australia, and have a proven ownership interest in one or more successful businesses in Australia, you can apply for permanent migration with this visa.Business people who have established a business in Australia while they are in Australia on
With this visa you can:

  • work in your established business in Australia
  • travel in and out of Australia any number of times as long as your visa is valid
  • study in Australia
  • have your family accompany you to Australia, who will have the same entitlements as you
  • live in Australia as a permanent resident for five years (after 5 years, you will need to apply for a resident return visa).

 

Regional Established Business in Australia (Subclass 846) Closed

If you are a temporary resident in Australia, and have a proven ownership interest in one or more successful businesses in Australia, you can apply for permanent migration under the Regional Established Business in Australia (Subclass 846 visa) category.
